The 2011 Oaktoberfest will feature three music venues, booths with tastings from 20 craft breweries, rich artisan and Bavarian inspired food and an interactive Kid’s Rootbier Garten and the HopTech Homebrewers’ Alley. You don’t want to miss the tented beer hall that will host professional beer makers from Sacramento to Santa Cruz. They will be on hand to talk about the process and will be doing food pairings throughout the day. Oaktoberfest is centered at the intersection of Fruitvale Ave and MacArthur Blvd in Oakland, Ca. Speaking of food, Oaktoberfest has partnered with the Oakland Mobile Food Group who will circle up their specialty food trucks.
Entertainment this year includes Big Lou the Polka Princess and the Golden Gate Bavarian Dancers, and R&B legends and Dimond’s own Stovall Sisters, About the Music, brings back Dancin’ in the Dimond, with renowned DJs and dance performers. The battle of the Brewer-Bret Harte jazz bands on the Microsoft Family Stage showcases the incredible talent in our middle schools, anchoring a full day of youth entertainment.
