Veteran’s Day is soon approaching and there are many restaurants and companies who want to thank our veterans by providing them with discounts or a free meal. To those companies offering veterans a free meal or discount, the military community gives a collective thanks! Our goal is to share as many of these free meals and discounts with our military veterans and we will update this page as soon as new information becomes available.
Included again this year are Applebee’s, which last year served more than 1 million free meals to veterans and service personnel, as well as Golden Corral, Hooters, McCormick & Schmick’s and Texas Roadhouse. Other listed free-food offers come from Krispy Kreme, Outback Steakhouse, Subway, TGIFriday’s and Uno Chicago Grill, among others. For a list of national restaurant chains and other businesses that offer free meals, beverages and other items to U.S. military veterans and active members of the armed services on or around the Nov. 11 holiday, check out themilitarywallet.com (click at bottom). The list is compiled by site founder Ryan Guina, 31, of Elburn, Ill., an Air Force veteran who verifies the information through company Web sites or direct contact with the businesses. His list also provides links to the companies’ Web sites for details about who is eligible; what proof of service is required, and the dates, times and restrictions on the offers.
Please note that not all locations participate.
