Need something to keep the kids busy? Get ready for The FREE Knack Passport to Fun summer in-store events at Michaels Stores. Your kids can travel the globe with FREE crafts through July 30. They’ll learn about faraway lands and create fun craft projects from 18 destinations around the world! Ages 3 and up. At each FREE Make-It Take-It event, children receive the supplies needed to complete creative crafts relating to various destinations and cultures around the globe. Each activity takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 9 – Learn about India while making two crafts: a henna hand and an elephant.
Tuesday, July 12 – Learn about Russia while making two crafts: a set of cute nesting dolls and a little brown bear.
Thursday, July 14 – Celebrate Bastille Day with two France crafts: making an Impressionist-style painting and a funny little Frenchman face.
Saturday, July 16 – Learn about the United Kingdom with two crafts: making a decorated royal crown (kids must purchase these supplies) and a little shamrock.
Tuesday, July 19 – Learn about Japan while making two crafts: a unique foam printing block and folded origami.
Thursday, July 21 – Learn about the world of ancient Greece by making a Grecian urn (edged with an iconic key design; kids must purchase the clay pot) and Olympic torch.
Saturday, July 23 – Learn about Mexico by making a colorful tissue paper flower and a Mexican sun .
Tuesday, July 26 – Learn about China by making sand art pictures and a tangram set.
Thursday, July 28 – Learn about South Africa by making a friendship bracelet and an animal pin
Saturday, July 30 – Learn about Brazil, the land of the Amazon, by making a colorful snake and a feathered mask fit for Carnival season.
