Not Free: Lunch with Warren Buffett nearing $2.4 million

This is a far from free as you can get but quite interesting…the charity auction for a steak lunch with Warren Buffett is nearing record levels, with several days to go.     Bidding opened Sunday evening on eBay for a chance for The auction winner gets lunch for eight with Buffett in New York at Smith & Wollensky and a chance to meet the Oracle of Omaha and talk shop over some steaks. It’s the 12th year Buffett has auctioned off his chow time to benefit Glide, an anti-poverty charity.  Buffett, chairman and chief executive of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., has raised more than $8 million over the past decade for Glide Foundation, which serves meals to the needy.   Seven bids already are in, and the current high offer is more than $2.34 million. The record price paid last year by an anonymous party was $2.63 million. The auction closes on June 10.
