The new trailer for “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” was released on Thursday (see it below) and it features plenty of shots of Chicago getting ripped up, blown up and torn up. The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and learn its secrets, which could turn the tide in the Transformers’ final battle. This movie focuses on a lot of robot-on-robot death matches that leaves Chicago in shambles. Can you recognize the Sears (now Willis) Tower, the Chicago Board of Trade building, the Wrigley Building, and a smoking Tribune Tower?
The Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide and Sideswipe led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime “Transformers” character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth. Transformers: Dark of the Moon is expected to hit theaters July 1st, 2011 in Real D 3D and IMAX 3D. Linkin Park’s “Iridescent” will be featured in the upcoming summer movie, Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The single features a new version of the track that appears on the band’s most recent album, A Thousand Suns, and will play over the film’s ending credits. A Linkin Park song has been featured in each one of the Transformers movies – “What I’ve Done” was included on the first one and “New Divide” appeared in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Both songs hit #1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Radio chart.
